Circuit Court of Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans today announced the appointment of Judge Thomas F. Carmody, Jr. as Presiding Judge of the court’s Fifth Municipal District, effective today, August 1, 2006.
A 14-year veteran of the bench who has served his entire judicial career assigned to the Fifth Municipal District courthouse in Bridgeview, Judge Carmody, 54, succeeds Judge Anthony S. Montelione, who retired July 31, 2006.
The Office of the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced that the two courtrooms housing Branch 43 and Branch 44 located in the Chicago Police Department 11th District Headquarters at Harrison Street and Kedzie Avenue will be closed on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, due to a fire in the facility earlier today.

Chief Cook County Judge Timothy C. Evans and Sixth Municipal District Presiding Judge Ronald C. Riley said the court will hold a graduation ceremony for 11 drug offenders on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at 2 p.m. to honor their completion of the Circuit Court of Cook County’s Drug Treatment Court Program. Circuit Court of Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans today announced he has appointed Judge Patrick E. McGann as Presiding Judge of the County Division and Judge Walter Williams as Supervising Judge of the Traffic Section of the First Municipal District. Judge McGann replaces Judge Michael J. Murphy who recently received an assignment to the First District Appellate Court of Illinois from the Illinois Supreme Court. Judge Williams replaces former Judge Robert P. Bastone who recently retired.
