Branches 43 and 44 closed until Thursday, July 13, 2006

The Office of the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced that the two courtrooms housing Branch 43 and Branch 44 located in the Chicago Police Department 11th District Headquarters at Harrison Street and Kedzie Avenue will be closed on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, due to a fire in the facility earlier today.

By order of First Municipal District Presiding Judge E. Kenneth Wright, Jr., all cases that had been scheduled for the 1:30 call in Branch 44 today were continued to Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the same scheduled time and place. All cases of individuals in custody of the Cook County Sheriff that had been scheduled for the 1:30 p.m. call in Branch 43 were continued to Thursday July, 13, 2006; however the court dates of those individuals on bond in Branch 43 were continued to August 16, 2006, at the same scheduled time and place.

All cases that had been scheduled to be heard on July 12, 2006, in Branch 44 were continued to Friday, July 14, 2006, at the same scheduled time and place. The court dates of individuals in custody that had been scheduled to be heard on July 12, 2006, in Branch 43 were continued to Friday, July 14, 2006, at the same scheduled time and place. The court dates of those individuals on bond in Branch 43 scheduled for July 12, 2006, however, were continued to August 17, 2006, at the same scheduled time and place.
