Chief Judge Evans accepts applications in nationwide search for Adult Probation Department leader

Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans announced today that he is accepting applications as part of a nationwide search for the next chief probation officer of the Adult Probation Department.

The chief probation officer oversees all of the operations of the department – such as budgeting, personnel management, strategic planning, resource acquisition, statistical analysis, training and working with the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts. The department has an active caseload of 23,000 probation clients and more than 3,000 defendants on pretrial services. The chief probation officer oversees three assistant chief probation officers, 12 deputy chief probation officers, 57 supervisors and about 550 employees.

The job requirements, minimum qualifications and instructions on how to apply are available on the right side of the court’s website homepage at www.cookcountycourt.org. The job opening is also posted on Indeed.com and with the American Probation and Parole Association.

The deadline to apply is November 10, 2017.
