Circuit Court of Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans announced that the Fifth Municipal District courthouse in southwest suburban Bridgeview will be closed today, Tuesday, October 3, 2006, due to a partial loss of electricity and area road closures caused by last night’s thunderstorms.
The courthouse, located at 10220 South 76th Avenue, is expected to reopen tomorrow.
Chief Judge Evans said that all civil and criminal court calls in the Bridgeview courthouse are canceled. However, the 9 a.m. bond hearing call in Room 103 will be held between 10 a.m. and noon today for any individuals in police custody who were arrested yesterday. Private attorneys, assistant state’s attorneys, assistant public defenders and necessary court personnel will be allowed into the courthouse for the bond hearing call. Civilian spectators, however, will not be allowed into the courthouse for the bond hearing call.
Civil cases that were scheduled to appear today in Bridgeview will be heard tomorrow, Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at the same time and in the same courtroom as had been scheduled for today.
All traffic and misdemeanor cases of individuals on bond that were scheduled to appear today are continued to Thursday, November 9, 2006, at the same time and in the same courtroom as had been scheduled for today. Felony cases of individuals on bond are continued to Thursday, October 12, 2006, also at their previously scheduled time and location.
All traffic and misdemeanor cases where the defendant is in custody are continued to tomorrow, October 4, 2006, at their previously scheduled time and location. All felony cases where the defendant is in custody that were scheduled for today are continued as follows:
- Courtroom 101: continued to Wednesday, October 4, 2006
- Courtroom 110: continued to Wednesday, October 4, 2006
- Courtroom 104: continued to Thursday, October 5, 2006
- Courtroom 107: continued to Thursday, October 5, 2006
- Courtroom 108: continued to Friday, October 6, 2006
- Courtroom 109: continued to Friday, October 6, 2006
