Chief Judge Evans announces temporary closing of Criminal Courts Building

Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans announced that due to a ComEd transformer problem, the Criminal Courts Building located at 2600 South California Avenue will temporarily close today. He said crews are working on the problem and that he expects power to be back on line later on today.

Chief Judge Evans said all cases that are scheduled to appear today either of individuals in custody or those on bond in criminal division courtrooms at 26th and California will be held on call for tomorrow, September 30, 2003, at the same time. This includes all First Municipal District courtrooms located at 26th and California with the exception of Central Bond Court. Central Bond Court will meet at 1:00 p.m. today in Room 100 at 26th and California.

Civilian spectators will not be allowed into the Criminal Courts Building today for the 1:00 p.m. Central Bond Court call.
