Below is a statement from Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans regarding the death of Commissioner Deer:
"I was deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of our friend, Dennis Deer. He was a fine commissioner for the Second District – a true servant-leader. He also was a man of profound faith, who shared his love and trust in God in everything he did. He was an advocate in the field of health care, education, economic development and housing, as well as for people re-entering the community post-incarceration. He will be greatly missed. I send my condolences to his family, constituents and many friends."
