Loss of power closes Maywood courthouse

Circuit Court of Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans announced that all court proceedings were canceled today in the Fourth Municipal District Courthouse, located at 1500 Maybrook Drive in west suburban Maywood, due to loss of the building's electrical power. Chief Judge Evans said the loss of power was due to Tuesday's severe weather and that court proceedings in the Maywood courthouse will resume as soon as electrical service can be restored.

Fourth Municipal District Presiding Judge Cheyrl D. Ingram entered an order closing the Maywood courthouse and continuing cases that had been scheduled for today, June 22, 2011, as follows:

  • All civil cases are rescheduled to June 29, 2011, to be heard at the same time and in the same courtrooms as previously scheduled.
  • The traffic, misdemeanor and felony cases of all defendants who are in the custody of the Cook County Department of Corrections are rescheduled for June 24, 2011, to be heard at the same time and in the same courtrooms as previously scheduled.
  • The traffic, misdemeanor and felony cases of all individuals who are on bond are rescheduled for July 27, 2011, to be heard at the same time and in the same courtrooms as previously scheduled.
