Parking and Directions

Parking:
Discounted parking is available for courthouse visitors, during court hours, located at 705 S. Jefferson St. Chicago, IL 60607, one block directly south of the courthouse. Parking in this flat lot at $6 per day can be paid with cash, credit or debit card at the parking facility between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Additionally, there are a number of paid public parking lots within walking distance of the courthouse. 

Public Transportation:
All Cook County Courthouses can be reached by public transportation.     Additional Information

      For the Domestic Violence Division Courthouse, which serves the First Municipal District, the following Accessibility Services are available:

      • Wheel Chair – Each entrance to the courthouse has an accessible door. If you find that you are in need of a wheelchair after arriving at the building, please ask any Sheriff’s Deputy and they will assist you in obtaining one. 
      • Hearing Assistance – Hearing amplification is available in all courtrooms. Upon arrival at the courtroom, tell any of the courtroom personnel and they will arrange it for you.
      • Sign Language Interpreter - Sign language interpreters can be provided through Deaf and Hard of Hearing Access Services.
      • Service Dogs – Service dogs are always allowed in the courthouse. 
      • Other – If you are in need of any accessibility assistance while you are at the courthouse, please tell a Sheriff’s Deputy. If you require any additional information before your court date, please contact Accessibility Services or call the Presiding Judge’s Office at (312) 325-9000 and personnel can assist you.

      The Domestic Violence Courthouse Children's Room is located in Room 099. This facility accepts children between the ages of infant and 16. For more information, please call (312) 325-9110.

      The Circuit Court of Cook County provides Lactation Rooms for nursing parents who are visiting our courthouses. Room 1700 is designated as the Lactation Room at this location. 

      Note for Jurors: Nursing parents who are called for jury duty can request access to a private space, upon their arrival to the Jury Assembly Room, in any court location. The Office of Jury Administration staff will direct individuals to these spaces upon request.

      The Interpreter Services Office within the Domestic Violence Courthouse is located in Room 3100 and can be contacted at (312) 325-9185. Foreign Language Interpreters are available upon request.

      The Domestic Violence Courthouse opened in 2005, located at 555 West Harrison Street in Chicago. The courthouse is an environmentally friendly building that was awarded the Silver LEEDS Certification in 2007. 

      Safety was foremost in the design of the Courthouse, which features:

      • victim-only elevators
      • secured victim waiting rooms for each courtroom
      • a safe and supportive environment in which to complete court documents
      • a screening area for litigants to speak to the Assistant States Attorneys in private
      • a secure childcare area
